How To Install The Twitter Follow Button On Your Blog or Website

How to install the Twitter Follow ButtonOn Tuesday, Twitter introduced the follow button.  Until now, many sites including this one, had a link to their twitter profile so readers can follow a Twitter account.  Basically you would link a Twitter logo or whatever to your profile, and once there, a visitor could click the follow button on your Twitter profile.  On Tuesday Twitter made that process a whole lot easier.

Now, similar to the Facebook “Like” button, the Twitter “Follow” button allows a visitor to follow you on Twitter with one click, without having to leave your site.  Twitter generates the code for you and if you have a WordPress blog, anyone with basic copy and paste skills have one of these shiny new buttons on their site in two minutes.  Literally.

I am certain that within the next few days a number of WordPress plugins will be released that do this for you, but honestly, this is so easy I don’t see the need.  Here is a quick 3 minute video that walks you through the process.

Have fun!
