On Tuesday, Twitter introduced the follow button. Until now, many sites including this one, had a link to their twitter profile so readers can follow a Twitter account. Basically you would link a Twitter logo or whatever to your profile, and once there, a visitor could click the follow button on your Twitter profile. On Tuesday Twitter made that process a whole lot easier.
Now, similar to the Facebook “Like” button, the Twitter “Follow” button allows a visitor to follow you on Twitter with one click, without having to leave your site. Twitter generates the code for you and if you have a WordPress blog, anyone with basic copy and paste skills have one of these shiny new buttons on their site in two minutes. Literally.
I am certain that within the next few days a number of WordPress plugins will be released that do this for you, but honestly, this is so easy I don’t see the need. Here is a quick 3 minute video that walks you through the process.
Have fun!
